RESPECT
For others and for a space itself. Membership can be revoked for poor behaviour.
RESOURCES
Please enjoy the convenience of our resources without abusing them; refreshments, paper and other stationery supplies or consumables.
INTERNET USAGE
Please be responsible and respectful with your internet usage. No bit-torrent or illegal online activities are permitted by members or their guests over the BlackBrick internet connection.
BEHAVIOUR
We have a zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate behaviour in our BlackBrick spaces. Our security systems include comprehensive video camera technology installed throughout the space. Members or their guests who do not demonstrate respect for others or behave in a manner that is destructive to the space will be asked to leave.
If anyone in our space makes you feel uncomfortable, bring it to our attention immediately.
CCTV
No items may be removed from any of the facilities. CCTV and inventory check will monitor this daily.
BLACKBRICK ASSETS
All items provided by BlackBrick that are found in any facility spaces, such as: chargers, projectors, HDMI cables, additional plug points, stationery, etc., may not be removed from its space and you will be held liable for costs and implications in such scenarios. BlackBrick checks its inventory list daily and in the case of missing items, video camera history will be accessed.
MEMBERSHIP CARDS
Membership cards allow for all access to BlackBrick. Once applications have been approved, you will be required to come into BlackBrick in order to register your membership card and follow an orientation process with the signing of an orientation pack.
MEMBERSHIP CARDS USAGE
Membership cards may be required for viewing at any point whilst on BlackBrick property.
STOLEN MEMBERSHIP CARDS
Please notify BlackBrick immediately if your membership card is lost or stolen.
GUESTS
BlackBrick Members are welcome to bring one guest with them to BlackBrick premises at a given time, but no guest may enter BlackBrick without the member being present.
GUESTS RULES & REGULATIONS
BlackBrick reserves the right to turn away guests during busy times. Please be advised that any suspicious behavior of consistent guests coming in, will be picked up and flagged.
GUESTS & BLACKBRICK RULES
As a member, you hold the responsibility to ensure your guests are aware of/ and respect the BlackBrick rules. If this is not respected, you as a member risk termination or suspension of membership.
NOISE LEVELS & MOBILE DEVICES
While some facilities vary in their noise constraints, our motto is simply to respect others and a space with respectful levels of noise.
PRIVATE EVENTS
BlackBrick may close some facilities to members and their guests for private events.
EVENT POLICIES & CONTENT DISCRETION
While BlackBrick activates our facilities with events and programming, we may be found to capture visual content of our member events while participating in membership programmes. This content may be used for any promotional purposes and you as a member, consent to the above mentioned.
ANIMALS
No animals will be permitted.
CCTV TECHNOLOGY
It is to be noted that BlackBrick reserves the right to have CCTV footage operating at all times.
SMOKING
No smoking is allowed inside the building. If you are found smoking you will be liable to a fine of R1000.

FACILITIY RULES
GENERAL RULES TO ALL BLACKBRICK FACILITIES AND SPACES
All members are required to follow the instructions of BlackBrick staff.
All BlackBrick RULES apply similarly to all spaces within the BlackBrick premises.
All BlackBrick members are responsible for their own personal items, therefore do not leave belongings unattended in BlackBrick facilities.
BlackBrick will take no responsibility for the loss, theft or damage of belongings brought into any facilities by members.
Please ensure all facility doors are left closed prior to access.
All sound & music within the facilities is controlled centrally by BlackBrick. Usage with headphones is required for your own personal sound.
All facilities are available to members in their operating times, subject to any event programming or booked out spaces.
CO-WORKING SPACES
Operating Times
04:00 – 23:00
PURPOSE
This space is used as hot desks for members as a work environment, allowing for creativity flow and a day-to-day work space to accelerate your life.
USAGE
This space works on a hot seat basis, first come first serve, with a maximum of 2 hours usage if the space is at full capacity.
SOUND
No phone usage is permitted. Please be mindful with noise levels and respect the purpose of the space.
PRACTICE LEAVING NO TRACES
When cleaning up, make a goal to leave the work spaces as if nobody used it. Organizing, wiping surface and other small tasks can make a huge difference.
BE A COURTEOUS EATER
Shared working spaces mean shared eating spaces in many instances. When you finish eating, you can keep everyone happy by throwing away any trash.
PRINTER USAGE
Please feel free to make use of the printer service, in regulations with printing policies.
SOCIAL INTERACTIONS
While one of the benefits of the space is to create connections and social interaction, it is also a space whereby members require focus time in order to come to get serious work done. Please be mindful not to frequently interrupt others or over-engage in social chatting in the common desk work space.

BOXING GYM
Operating Times
05:00 – 21:00
PURPOSE
This space is used for members to exercise, on your own accounts or through the use of our personal trainer. HIIT classes may take place here.
USAGE
Personal exercise space subject to capacity of the gym, first come first serve basis, with a 20 minute equipment limit should the gym be in full capacity. People who are not making use of the gym are not allowed in the area.
GYM APPAREL
All users should wear appropriate apparel and footwear to comply with the requirements of the Gymnasium, otherwise the access to and use of such facilities will be refused.
AGE
ENTRY INTO THE GYMNASIUM WILL ONLY BE PERMITTED FOR PERSONS OVER THE AGE OF 16.
HEALTH & SAFETY
Persons using the equipment in the Gymnasium are responsible for their own safety. Members are advised to seek advice and assistance from our building staff if necessary. For the safety of all users, please refrain from preventing or interfering with others’ use of the equipment in the Gymnasium.
EQUIPMENT
For the benefit of all, it is requested that you return equipment to the corresponding place when finished. Please handle the equipment in the Gymnasium with care. Users are responsible for any damages to the facilities or equipment.
SOUND
Please mute mobile phones while in the Gym. Music must be played through earphones only.
HYGIENE
The use of a personal towel is required in order to avoid possible contagions and the deterioration of the machines.
CONCERNS
In case of any doubt, complaints on using Gym equipment or equipment breakdowns, we requested that you immediately contact the Service U for assistance.

ROOFTOP YOGA
Operating Times
07:00 – 19:00
PURPOSE
This space is used for members to practice yoga, stretching, meditation as well as a space where Thai massages take place.
USAGE
Out of scheduled classes, this space operates as a first come first serve.
APPROPRIATE APPAREL
Members are requested to wear clothing that preserves their dignity throughout the full range of movement that constitutes practices in this space.
SAFETY
No crockery, glass or anything breakable is permitted in any part of the Studios.
WEATHER PRECAUTIONS
It is to be noted to be mindful of weather conditions in this open space. Refrain from remaining in this space during stormy and unsafe weather. BlackBrick takes no responsibility for injury or safety hazards occurred by weather conditions.
HYGIENE
Members are required to use a suitable towel for the purpose of covering their yoga mat in the studio.
PROGRAMMING
Classes start promptly at the advertised times. Members need to arrive at the Rooftop Yoga space with enough time to enter the yoga studio before the class starts.
SOUND
The yoga studio is a SILENT space. Many members use the time before or after class for meditation. No music to be played in this space and no talking.

DINING LOUNGE
USAGE
This space is currently being used for booked private events only.
ROOFTOP BAR
Operating Times
MON-SAT: 12:00 – 20:00 | CLOSED SUNDAYS
PURPOSE
The Rooftop Bar is a space for enjoying social experiences, snacks, pop-up dining and curated events with rooftop views.
FOOD & BEVERAGE
Due to COVID-19 the liquor board has not yet provided us with our liquor license for the Rooftop Bar. However, should you order food to the rooftop from our restaurant or be utilizing the braai facilities, you may consume your own Beer and Wine. No Spirits are permitted. Once we receive our liquor license this will be discontinued and no consumption of your own alcohol will be permitted as our Bar will be in full operation.
BRAAI USAGE
The Braai/Barbeques are Gas Powered. No Coles or Wood is permitted to be used with the Equipment.
You are not permitted to ignite the Braai yourself. Our Bar Operator may be requested to ignite the Braai for you to use. Please bring your own cooking utensils. Please turn the equipment off when done and leave your space clean and tidy for the next person to enjoy.

PRIVATE EVENTS
Private events may from time to time be held on the Rooftop Bar. This may result in the facility being closed.
MAXIMUM NUMBER OF PEOPLE: 25 COVID-19
Please practice social distancing and wear your face mask. Fines may be implemented for non-compliance, however, it is your own responsibility to adhere to the regulations.

MEDITATION GARDEN
Operating Times
05:00 – 21:00
PURPOSE
This space is used for members to meditate and connect within an urban oasis.
USAGE
This space operates as a first come first serve, with 2 hours usage if the space is at full capacity.
SOUND
No phone usage is permitted. Please be mindful with noise levels and respect the purpose of the space. We encourage silence at all times and for this space to be a disconnect from all else but oneself.

CINEMA ROOM
Operating Times
MON-SAT: 09:00 – 21:00 | SUN: 09:00 – 19:00
PURPOSE
This space is used for BlackBrick screenings of selected movies and educational talks.
USAGE
This space will be used when opened for programming by BlackBrick, with private bookings of this space allowed by booking at reception. Once booked, we will inform you on how to use the systems.
SOUND
When in this space, please respect noise levels while screenings take place.
TECHNOLOGY SYSTEMS
No technological items should be interfered with and /or removed from here. Any items found to be missing, will lead to an investigation taking place.

LIBRARY
Operating Times
08:00 – 21:00
PURPOSE
This space is used for the collection of BlackBrick books for members to access the world’s greatest minds.
USAGE
No books may be taken/removed from this space without following BlackBrick procedures.

MEETING/BOARDROOMS
04:00 – 23:00
PURPOSE
This space is a paid for facility, to be used by a member in need of conducting work-related meetings, brainstorm sessions and conference calls. Available to members at a discounted rate.
USAGE
This space may be booked via our BlackBrick App.
CATERING
It is important to note that catering to host meetings can and only will be provided by BlackBrick & it’s selected vendors. Catering of tea and/or coffee may be requested through booking on the BlackBrick App.

CONVERSATION LOUNGE
Operating Times
07:00 – 21:00
PURPOSE
This space is used for members to relax, socialize and connect with other members. It is also a space for personal downtime and reading. The space will also be used for hosting educational talks.
